EVER CHANGING WORLD GLACIER LAGOON

Glacier lagoons usually appear as white icebergs in bluish or grey colored melk water but in some parts of Iceland the glacier ice is mixed with black volcano ashes.
Thus some parts of the glacier as well as the icebergs in the lagoon rather look like big rocks instead of ice at first sight.
The lagoons often turn into rivers that flow into the ocean. On their way to the ocean, bigger rivers can drag icebergs up to 15 meters higher than the water surface down to the ocean. Other parts of the glacier lagoons form wide river beds which can be several kilometers long in length and width. Climate change, but also volcanic activity, has resulted in constant changes in these landscapes.
